Why is posture so important?
Sitting and standing with proper alignment improves blood flow, helps keep your nerves and blood vessels healthy, and supports your muscles, ligaments and tendons. People who adopt a good posture are less likely to experience related back and neck pain. It also sends a ‘positive projection’ to yourself and the people around you.
Increase your awareness of your posture. Ask a family member or colleague to inform you if you slump and catch and correct yourself when you realise your posture is poor.
As a starting point, try not hunching before lunch!
