Yes, you’re busy and it’s easy to lose the habit of staying in touch.  If your friend is surprised to hear from you, the hidden message is that you’ve been out of contact for too long.

Create the time to call a friend this weekend.  Don’t wait for them to call you.  No, not a text message and definitely not an email.

Talk to your friends.

No one can have too many friends and most people don’t have enough.
